My Story
Hi, I'm Naomi! I'm African American and Samoan, and I grew up in a Christian home with a strong legacy of missions. Both of my grandparents were missionaries, but for most of my life, I never imagined I would become one. In fact, I didn't want to.
Growing up, I knew about God, but I didn't really know Him for myself, my faith was mostly built on what I had been taught. I was living off of my mom's faith instead of developing my own relationship with Jesus.
As I got older, especially after graduating high school in 2020, I began searching for purpose and identity in the things the world had to offer. I looked to relationships, friendships, and the world's standards of beauty to find fulfillment. On the outside, I could look like everything was fine even going to church on Sundays but during the week I was living far from God. Deep down, I was struggling with my identity and searching for something that could truly satisfy my heart.
When I was 22, everything changed. The Lord met me in such a personal way and revealed His incredible love for me. I had my own prodigal son moment. For the first time, I truly understood that Jesus wasn't just someone I had heard about growing up He had been pursuing me my entire life. Since I didn't grow up with a father, experiencing God as my loving Father completely changed the way I saw myself. I realized that He had always been with me, always faithful, and always calling me home.
From that moment on, I knew I wanted to give my whole life to Jesus. What I once said I would never do became the greatest joy of my life. Over the past few years, I've had the privilege of serving on mission trips with YWAM (Youth With A Mission) and Circuit Riders, and now I have the honor of serving as full-time staff with Circuit Riders.
My heart is to see this generation encounter the love of Jesus the way I did. I especially have a passion for young women to discover that their identity isn't found in relationships, appearance, or the approval of others, but in Christ alone. Just like the woman at the well in John 4, I believe Jesus is the only One who can truly satisfy the deepest thirst of our hearts.
My prayer is that people would experience God's love for themselves, build a genuine relationship with Him, and discover the purpose and freedom that can only be found in Jesus.
