What Is Black Voices?

Black Voices is a Circuit Riders movement dedicated to activating the mission of Jesus in the hearts of Black Gen Z. Through gatherings, training, music, and media, we empower the next generation of Black leaders to carry the Gospel to their communities, campuses, and the nations.

One of the most eye opening and life changing experiences I've ever had was serving on the Black Voices Tour throughout the Northeast. Growing up in Washington, I wasn't surrounded by a large Black community outside of my own family. Because of that, it was incredibly meaningful to travel through regions with rich Black history and diverse Black communities, including New York, New Jersey, Delaware, the DMV, Pennsylvania, Massachusetts, and eventually down to Atlanta.

Throughout the tour, we had the privilege of sharing the Gospel in a variety of settings, from high schools and universities to HBCU(Historically Black Colleges and Universities) and juvenile correctional facilities. Some of the most unforgettable moments happened inside those correctional centers, where we sat with teenagers carrying incredibly heavy stories. Many were incarcerated for serious offenses, yet we had the opportunity to listen, pray with them, and witness many of them surrender their lives to Jesus. I also had the honor of leading worship in several of these facilities, and seeing God's presence meet these young people in such powerful ways is something I'll never forget.

We were welcomed into incredible host homes that cared for us like family, and every stop became another opportunity to share the hope of Christ. During our outreach events, we preached the Gospel and taught from John 4 the story of the woman at the well showing that Jesus is the only One who can truly satisfy the deepest thirst of the human heart.

Day after day, we watched students respond to the Lord in remarkable ways. Many rededicated their lives to Christ, while others made the decision to follow Jesus for the very first time. We witnessed students encounter the Holy Spirit, experience miraculous healing during worship, and walk into newfound freedom. I watched young women be set free from spiritual bondage connected to sorority cults on University  campuses. Time after time, we saw lives transformed by the power and love of God.

What made this tour so significant wasn't only what God did through us it was what He did in us. He gave me a deeper understanding of His heart for prison ministry, for the Black community, and for unity within the body of Christ. I was reminded of the beautiful picture in Revelation 7:9, where every nation, tribe, people, and language stands before the throne worshiping Jesus together. 

The impact of the tour didn't end when we left each city. Many of the students we met are still growing in their faith, and I've been blessed to stay connected with some of them. It's been amazing to watch them not only remain on fire for Jesus but also begin leading their own friends to Christ. I truly believe the Lord has incredible plans for the Black community and is raising up a generation that will boldly proclaim His name.

This tour wasn't simply a trip it was a reminder that the Gospel has the power to transform every heart, every community, and every generation. It was an invitation to join God's mission of reaching every nation, every tribe, every people, and every tongue with the hope of Jesus.
